Twice a week, the City of St. Catharines sends in a detachment of police to escort a private firm retained by the City to dismantle and displace those with nowhere to go.
Often these workers (or the police) provide very little notice, thirty to forty minutes to pack up, host these raids in the middle of the month (when funds are typically at the lowest), and can be heard laughing while trashing the few possessions these individuals have left.
